Auckland
No postmark, it came inside a book in 2005.
Aukland by night, New Zealand
The beautiful Auckland harbour acts as a mirror for this colourful evening display of lights from the Auckland Metro area.
Auckland is sometimes called the "City of Sails" because of its love of the sea. It lies on an isthmus surrounded by rainforest and straddles a dormant volcanic field which has produced as many as 50 volcanoes, now considered extinct.
the first to settle in this area were Maori, who called it Tāmaki-makau-rau, or Maiden with 100 Lovers - a place desired by many. That says it all!

I'm starting to get the impression that New Zealand has only one modern postcard publisher. The few I have, plus several that I've seen online, all appear to come from the same source.
ReplyDeleteBut they do a great job, don't they?
It'a a lovely card, yes. Looking back over the more recent ones I have, only about half a dozen, they do look remarkably similar.
