Henkell & Co., Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Germany

An unused card I found among some photographs belonging to my father-in-law.  There is no indication of date on the card itself.
Sektkellereien Henkell & Co., Wiesbaden-Biebrich
Haputfront in der Biebricher Allee

It shows the cellars of the sparkling wine makers, Henkell.  The brand name Henkell Trocken was established in the late 19th century and it rapidly became prestigious.  The building shown was built between 1907 and 1909.

It was given to my in-laws by the young boy who eventually became my husband.  He was on a school trip to Germany in the late 50s when they did a tour of the cellars.

  1. Sheila,
In the hurly-burly of preparing & double-checking the July Festival, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for all the time you've been taking to visit the various participants and leave messages.I feel as if I've been getting to know you through your comments as well as your blog.
    Bless-you,

  2. Evelyn, it's my pleasure, and a small way to say thank you for including me. I hope I didn't repeat myself too much! :)

Welcome to my postcard collection! I love hearing what you think of the cards - but spam WILL be deleted.
