Sierra Tarahumara, Mexico

Unused, dated 1994.
El puente mas alto de la ruta, 90 metros, sobre el Rio Chinipas
Bridge over Chinipas river, highest bridge on the route, 335 feet.

I bought this card myself while on holiday in Mexico.  This shows the highest bridge on the train route through the Copper Canyon, one of the most stunning places I have seen in my life.

We joined the train at some ungodly hour in Los Mochis and travelled to Divisidero.  We were travelling independently unlike 99% of the other passengers.  My husband insisted we left the train at full speed in an effort to check into the hotel before the tour groups took over.  We reached the path up to the hotel and saw the view.  All thoughts of checking in left us as we gazed at the incredible sight.  Two days later we caught the train again and completed the journey to Chihuahua.

  1. Yes, it's an amazing view -- but did you beat the tourist groups to check-in? ;)

  2. WOW! Looks amazing! We have been to Mexico a few times, but usually stick to staying at the known places and touring th nearby sights :) We do travel with young kids, though. But one of these days, we would love to do some off the beaten path travel in Mexico. Lucky you :))

  3. We did get to the hotel before the tour groups, yes. :) They were equally stopped in their tracks by the view.
