PFF - Letter boxes in the snow

I've been saving this card for an appropriate moment, and the moment has arrived! It was sent to me from Finland at the end of October but as often happens with cards from Finland, it has missed the franking machine so there is no postmark on the stamp.

The sender says this is a very common view in Finland every winter. It looks very attractive but as the sender also says, the mailmen won't be too happy if there's too much snow around the mailboxes.

This is a post for Postcard Friendship Friday.

  9. What brightly colored snow capped mailboxes too! How do the mailmen avoid getting snow in the box when they open it I wonder? Perfect PFF!

  12. We seldom get snow in my neck of the woods, but I did get see a nice little snowstorm the other day. It didn't last and the world didn't change into the lovely landscape on your card.

Still, I'd rather look at it than be in it.

  14. It is a lovely scene, almost makes you want to run home and open the letters by a roaring fire, with a hot chocolate.

  15. Now, I am dying to go to Finland. I've just read a series of funny and imaginative books by Finnish author Arto Paasilinna. In one of them a postman is one of the main characters, and this postcard brings me again in the mood of his tales.

A lot of postboxes on the photo, by the way.
