Three cards with maps of Washington State, each arriving in consecutive months this year - July, August and September. That feels like some sort of a coincidence, but they do say everything happens in threes.
What I like about them is that they all show different features of the same place. Isn't it interesting that one place can be seen in such different ways, can present different faces to the world? Much the same could be said of people too. Everywhere and everyone has many different features and how they are perceived depends as much on the observer as on the place or person.
This is a post for Postcard Friday, which is hosted by Beth Niquette at The Best Hearts are Crunchy.
Congratulations on the blog of note! How do you find so many post cards?

I likee a blog after a long time. Good stuff. Thank you
ReplyDeleteI also find it interesting who picks which postcard! It's almost like a personality test!!
ReplyDeleteHappy travels, Red Nomad OZ!
Thanks everyone!
ReplyDelete@Vishal, many of them were collected by my father over the years, the rest I've either bought at flea markets or exchanged through Postcrossing.
@Caren, thanks, I'll be over to visit you.
@Travel, I'm glad you enjoy it.
@Red Nomad, all my own choosing! I dread to think what that says. :)
I love when "Blog of Note" finds me new favorite blogs to follow. Congratulations! I love this, even if it does make me sad that I do not have the time or money to travel at the moment.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I think I have a couple postcards of other states from the same series as the third one. My family took a couple epic cross-country road trips when I was younger, so I have a bit of a collection going. :)
Great to see all these postcards - so evocative.
ReplyDeleteThose are really some old school post cards. Though the second one kind of looks like the ones we used to sell at the hotel.
ReplyDeleteCongrats! I love all the postcards! Where do you find them??
ReplyDeleteGood luck!

Enjoyed your blog. My Grandmother got me "hooked" on collecting Post cards, and now I have quite a collection. As a family (several generations) we love traveling and collecting post cards along the way. Now, I am working to interest my grandchildren in collecting post cards - maybe the tradition will continue. Your blog is very interesting!
ReplyDeleteThat is too funny! At least they are all different though. :)
ReplyDeleteI noticed last evening that you are a Blog of Note! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on being a Blogs of Note. :)
ReplyDeleteYours is a wonderful blog and I like that you not only post cards but, usually, give us a bit of interesting history as well.
ReplyDeleteAs for Washington State, it's a beautiful one, quite varied and interesting, with a beautiful coastline, mountains, the Columbia River gorge, great wines, and so much more.
Love seeing the three postcard maps stacked together like this. Really fun to see the differences. And congrats on the blog of note. That's awesome!
