Derwentwater in the Lake District

Postmark Keswick, Cumbria, and dated 8 September 1978.
Friar's Crag, Derwentwater

The Lake District is England's largest national park and contains England's highest peak at Scafell, and the deepest lake at Wastwater.  It was a popular subject for the Lake Poets and William Wordsworth.

  1. A beautiful place. Love the reflection in the still water, very dreamlike.

  6. Fantastic reflections in the lake. It looks deserted, the kind of place I love to visit. It looked completely different last time I was there, surrounded by snow and ice :-)
